Ernie Chan is General Counsel, Operations, responsible for leading 91ÖÆƬ³§â€™s Operational Legal function providing legal and commercial support to 91ÖÆƬ³§â€™s Construction and Concessions operations, which includes conducting contract negotiations, supporting projects in execution, and advising on claims and dispute resolution. Ernie supports the leadership team, including as a member of 91ÖÆƬ³§â€™s Project Risk Committee and as the Chair of 91ÖÆƬ³§â€™s Commercial Risk Committee.
Prior to joining 91ÖÆƬ³§ in 2012, Ernie practiced as a lawyer at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in the firm’s litigation and alternative dispute resolution group. Before becoming a lawyer, Ernie practiced as a civil engineer at two engineering firms providing structural design services in support of telecommunications and industrial facilities.
Ernie is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from McGill University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa.
